Merouane Ghalmi, accused of breaking peace bond conditions, released

Merouane Ghalmi, a 22 year-old Montreal accused of breaking one of the conditions of a terror-related peace bond, has been released on bail subject to new conditions.

22-year-old must stay in Pierrefonds home and not use the internet

A 22-year-old Montreal man accused of breaking one of the conditionsof a terror-related peace bond has been released.

Merouane Ghalmi appeared in court this morning.

In March,he signed a peace bond subjecting him to certain conditionsbecause theRCMP believed it was possible he may commit a terroristoffence.

Ghalmi was arrested last week for allegedly violating one of those conditions.

He was released on bail today with new conditions, including agreeingto stay at his home in Pierrefonds and cutting all internet access.

All evidence in the case is subject to a publication ban.

The case is due back in courtJune 11.
