Mont-Royal Metro to get new entrance, elevator

The entrance to Mont-Royal Metro station will be torn down in 2018 and replaced with a new, glass entrance by 2020. An elevator will also be installed to provide access to all transit users.

One of Montreal's oldest Metro stations will undergo afacelift and become universally accessible.

The entrance toMont-RoyalMetrowill be torn down in 2018 and replaced with a newglass entrance by 2020. An elevator will also be installed to provide universal access to all transit users.

The new entrance will also have a new roof and have artwork on display.

Residents of thePlateauMont-Royal will still be able to access the metro station during the construction work.

Borough council unanimously adopted the resolution on Monday evening.

The costs of the project still need to be calculated.
