Man dies after shooting at car wash in Montreal's east end

Montreal police are investigating after a man was shot in the city's east end and a car was found burning near the scene. Investigators believe the vehicle was used by suspects who fled the scene of the shooting.

A man has diedafter being shot at a car wash in the Saint-Lonard borough, Montreal police say.

The shooting happened Tuesday morning at around 10:30 a.m. near the corner of the Metropolitain Expressway and Lacordaire Boulevard.

Const.Raphal Bergeron, a spokesperson with theService de police de la Ville de Montral(SPVM), saysthe 51-year-old victim was shot while waiting in line.

Police said earlier in the day thatthe victim was shot in the upper body after at least one suspect approached him and opened fire. Bergeron saidthe victim, who was known to police, was pronounced dead at hospital.

Investigators are still looking for the suspects.

A car was found burningon nearby Follereau Streetand investigators believe that vehicle was used by the suspects to flee the scene.

Police have set up a large security perimeter in the area.

Police say it is the sixth homicide in the SPVM's territory this year.
