Montreal to tackle climate change over 5 years
The city announces 24 measures it will take to adapt to changing weather patterns due to global warming
The City of Montreal unveiled its newplanto tackle thechallenges of climate change between now and 2020.
The plan lists24 measures that Montrealwill take to grapple withrising temperatures, damaging storms,heavy rains, floodsandheat waves.

Those measures includeincreasing the resiliency of existing infrastructureand coming up with an emergency response planin case of a deluge.
The five-yearplan also includes measures forstabilizing shorelines during floods and ensuring accessible and clean water during droughts.
There is tobe a review of theplan and how well it has been implementedin 2017-2018.
