Montrealers can now dial 311 to complain or inquire about municipal services, thanks to a new phone system.

311 is Montreal's new phone number for municipal information and non-emergency services. It isavailable 365 days a year.

Residents can dial the number with questions about everything from pool hours to potholes and snow removal, Mayor Grald Tremblay said Tuesday at the service's official launch.

The phone line will help the city keep tabs on demands for municipal services, Tremblay said.

The 311 line will be open 365 days a year from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Fridayand from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

The service will cost an estimated $3 million a year.
