Suspicious death of woman in Lachine deemed a homicide, Montreal police say

Police found the woman unconscious in an apartment on 32nd Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Montreal policesay thedeath of a 64-year-old woman in Lachine Monday evening that was first deemed suspicious has been ruled a homicide.

Police received a 911 call around 7:45 p.m.and responded to an apartment building on 32nd Avenue, near Victoria Street.

When they arrived, they found the woman unconscious.She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

This is the 21st homicide on territory covered by the Montreal police this year.

The major crimes unit has taken over the case and are continuing the investigation Tuesday.
