Neighbour sold Proulx gun used in political aide's slaying

Francis Proulx's next-door neighbour says he sold Proulx the gun that prosecutors say was used to kill a Quebec political aide last year.

Says accused man was 'obsessed' with weapons

Francis Proulx's next-door neighbour sayshe sold Proulx the gun that prosecutors say was used to kill a Quebec political aide last year.

Proulx is charged with first-degree murder inthe highly publicized death of Nancy Michaud.

Remy Nadeau told the jury Wednesday that Proulx was obsessed with weapons and that he sold the accused killer a .22-calibre gun last April.

Also testifyingwas one of Proulx's cellmates, who claimed the accused man gave him details about what was done to Michaud's body after the slaying.

Michaud's body was found in an abandoned house in May 2008, two days after she disappeared from her home in the village of Rivire-Ouelle in the Lower St. Lawrence region.

Michaud, 37, was an assistant to Quebec Natural Resources Minister Claude Bchard at the time of her death.

The trial continues Thursday in a Quebec City courtroom.
