Some Montreal parking restrictions no longer apply starting today

Starting Wednesday, Dec.2 and continuing untilMarch 31 of next year, parking restrictions on many Montreal streetswon't be in effect.

• Plateau to test drive daily parking permits
• Parking ticket issued nine months late rare, but legal

This means there will be more parking spaces to go around.

Signs that limit parking on certain days of the week can safely be ignored as long as they say they apply from April 1 to Dec. 1.

The restrictions were put in place to make room for street sweepers, which aren't used during the winter months.
