Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Villeray

A70-year-old man is dead afterhe was struck by a car Saturday afternoon.

Montreal police say the man was crossing Christophe-Colomb Avenue between Everett and Jean-Talon streets when he was hitby a car heading south around 1:30 p.m.

Police said the man was taken to hospital with life-threatening head injuries and was in critical condition. He died early Sunday morning.

The 31-year-old driver was not injured.

Police say the incident was an accident the man was not crossing the street at a designated intersection.
