Pedestrian struck while crossing street in Saint-Laurent

A woman is in hospital in stable condition after she was struck by a car while crossing the street in the Montreal borough of Saint-Laurent.

Montreal police blocked off a portion of Cte-Vertu Blvd., west of Cavendish, Tuesday night after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. (Radio-Canada)

A woman is in hospital in stable condition after she was struck by a car while crossing the street in the Montreal borough of Saint-Laurent.

Police say it happened Tuesday, at around9:40 p.m., when the woman was crossing Cte-Vertu Boulevard, near CavendishBoulevard.

The driver of thevehicle that hit her was heading westbound onCte-Vertu.

The victimwas unconscious when she was transported to hospital. Initially listed as critical, her condition has since stabilized.

The driver was not injured.

The westbound side ofCte-Vertu Boulevard remained closed for hours Tuesday night while investigators were on the scene.
