- P.K. Subban donates $10M to Montreal Children's Hospital
- Canadiens to name captain before season begins
Last season, Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov served as alternate captains, while Max Pacioretty and Subban shared the third A.
On Twitter, some argued the donation shows Subban is prepared to be a leader on and off the ice.
If there was any doubt, it was removed today. PK Subban should be the captain of the Montreal Canadiens.

I know Pacioretty is considered the front runner, but my vote goes to Subban for captain. #habs https://t.co/nBxFoTSTeF

Others contendedthe captaincy isa separate issue and should be set asidefor another day.
Subban's great gesture today is about giving & helping children in need of medical attn & hope. The Captain conv is for another day #Habs

No matter if PK becomes captain or not this shows he will be a leader and ambassador in his city for his duration there. Go Subban.

The debate aside, everyone agreed what wasdescribed as"the biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history"is a sign ofSubban'sbig heart and love for the city.
P.K. Subban donates $10 million to children's hospital. Next knucklehead to call him selfish/egotistical is officially selfish/egotistical.

This massive donation has nothing to do with the captaincy of the Habs, and everything to do with P.K. Subban being a great person.
