P.K. Subban's$10-milliondonationto the Montreal Children's Hospital has revived debateabout who should be the Habs' next captain, with some suggestingthe move is proof the stardefencemanis ready to lead the team.

General manager Marc Bergevinannounced last week the Habs would namea captainby the end of training camp, ending the committee system used last season.

Last season, Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov served as alternate captains, while Max Pacioretty and Subban shared the third A.

On Twitter, some argued the donation shows Subban is prepared to be a leader on and off the ice.

Others contendedthe captaincy isa separate issue and should be set asidefor another day.

The debate aside, everyone agreed what wasdescribed as"the biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history"is a sign ofSubban'sbig heart and love for the city.
