PQ leadership hopeful Pierre Cr may drop out of race

Parti Qubcois leadership candidate Pierre Cr will announce on Sunday whether or not he will continue to campaign for the party's top job.

Cr drop-out would leave just Alexandre Cloutier, Martine Ouellet and Pierre Karl Pladeau in race

Parti Qubcois leadership candidate Pierre Cr will announce on Sunday whether or not he will continue to campaign for the party's top job.

Party members begin voting Wednesday to select a new leader.

On Friday, Cr told The Canadian Press he had not yet raised the $10,000 he needs to continue in the race. Cr, who has only raised $3,000,has until 5 p.m. Tuesday to raise the necessary amount.

If Cr were to leave the race, only three candidates would remain: Alexandre Cloutier, Martine Ouellet and the front-running Pierre Karl Pladeau.

Bernard Drainville dropped out fo the race in April.

Cr will announce his decision in a news conference Sunday afternoon.

Results of the first round of the PQ leadership vote will be announced May 15.
