Public health officials say Joliette measles outbreak is over

Public health officials in Joliette say a measles outbreak that has been hitting the region since January is over.

In total, 159 people were diagnosed, including many children.

The office of Public Health and Social Services for the Lanaudireregion saidall of them were never vaccinated against themeasles.

The outbreak was centred among members of the Mission L'Esprit-Saint religious community.

It began when some members of the community visited Disneyland in California, the epicentre of a major outbreak.
