Quebec City police officer accused of dangerous driving causing death

Isabelle Morin is facing charges after doing a U-turn in a construction zone. Now that she's been charged, the police officer will be reassigned to administrative duties.

A Quebec City police officer involved in a fatal accident is facing criminal charges.

Isabelle Morin is accused of dangerous driving causing death.

The accident happened last September, when Morin did a U-turn in a construction zone on the Laurentian Autoroute, and amotorcyclist slammedinto the back of her squad car.

Jessy Drolet, 38,was killed on impact.

In a statement, Quebec City's police chief saidthe force is co-operating with investigators.

A complaint hasalso been filed with the province's police ethics commission.

Morin continues to work with the police department but will be assigned to administrative duties now that the charges have been laid.
