Quebec road accidents lead to 9 deaths over holidays

Holiday road accidents claimed the lives of nine people across Quebec from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3.

Holiday road accidents claimed the lives of nine people across Quebec from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3.

Two fatal accidents happened over the holiday season in Sherbrooke. A man, 48, died on Highway 10 and a separatecollision between two vehiclesled to the death of a 30-year-old woman.

A 22-year-old woman died in a head-on collision in Saguenay on New Year's Eve. Witnesses say her car deviated from her lane into oncoming traffic.

In Saint-Hilarion, in the Charlevoix region, a woman died after an accident between two vans.

Two people died in a car crash on Les EscouminsSunday morning. A third person wasinjured when one of thevehicles caught fire.

All accidents were on the territory of theSretduQubec.

Three people have also died inresidential firessince Christmas Eve including two seniors who died intheRosemont-La Petite Patrie boroughon New Year's Eve.
