Saguenay flood cost $1 billion

Nearly seven years after the Saguenay flood, the total cost of the damage is finally known.

Figures from Quebec's statistics institute reveal the natural disaster cost one $1 billion.

During the flood in 1996, 16,000 people were evacuated, and nearly 2,000 homes were damaged, or destroyed.
