Small earthquake felt from Montreal to northern New York

An earthquake registering at magnitude 3.6 shook the area near Cornwall, Ont. and western Quebec just after midnight Saturday morning.

An earthquake registering at magnitude 3.6 shook the area near Cornwall, Ont. and western Quebec just after midnight Saturday morning.

Natural ResourcesCanada reported the quake 15 kilometres from Cornwall and noted it was felt in northern New York, as well as in Montreal.

The federal agency says no damage was reported.

Cornwall residents were definitely feeling it. Some took to Twitter to react.
