St-Henri's railway and fences

Like many neighbourhoods in Montreal, St-Henri has a symbiotic relationship with the the rail line that runs through its middle. This project examines the condition of the fencing around the major railway that runs through the neighbourhood.

A first-hand look at the intersection of a neighbourhood and a rail line

Like many neighbourhoods in Montreal, St-Henri has a symbiotic relationship with the the rail line that runs through its middle.

This project examines the condition of the fencing around the major railway that runs through the neighbourhood.

Joseph Arciresi set out to find as many places as he could where a street or public area came close to the tracks to see if the fence could be scaled or crossed by someone on foot.

He visited these places in person and classified whether the fence was traversable or not. In some cases, he did so by testing the fitness of the barriers himself.

His findings are compiled in this map. The points can all be clicked and expanded to show the photos and video, along with some of his commentary.
