Montreal police investigating Sud-Ouest stabbing involving driver and pedestrian

Police officers arrived at the scene where they found a man in his 60s with upper body injuries. They said the incident appeared to bethe result of a conflict between a driver and the pedestrian.

A driver stabbed a pedestrian on Thursday morning in the Sud-Ouest borough, Montreal police said.

A spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montral (SPVM), said the stabbing occurred around 10 a.m. on Atwater Avenue, near Lionel-Groulx Metro station.

Police officers arrived at the scene where they found a man in his 60s with upper body injuries. They said the incident appeared to bethe result of a conflict between a driver and the pedestrian.

The driver fled the scene before police arrived.

He was transported to hospital but was conscious and his life is not considered to be in danger.

Police have made no arrests, but erected a perimeter in the area and are investigating.
