UPAC raids three locations, including Laval

Quebec's anti-corruption unit is carrying out a series of raids that began at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Quebec's anti-corruptionunit carried out a series of raidsin Laval, Boucherville and Terrebonne.

The operations began at 7 a.m. Tuesdayand involve about 50 investigators with theUnit Permanente Anticorruption, or UPAC.

Theraidstargetted three constructioncompanies, G. Giuliani Inc. in Laval, Asphalte Desjardins Inc. in Terrebonne, and Construction DJLin Boucherville.

A spokesperson for the anti-corruption unit said Tuesday's raids are tied to raids conducted overthelast few weeks.

Last week the anti-corruption unitexecuted search warrants on at least six construction companies in Laval. The week before that, it hit the homes and offices linked tothe city's mayor.
