Suspicious device found near Children's Hospital not dangerous

A suspicious device found near the Montreal Children's Hospital is not dangerous, according to Montreal police.

Atwater Ave. reopened after police said item that was found appeared to be 'explosive'

A suspicious device found near the Montreal Children's Hospital is not dangerous, according to Montreal police.

Police rushed to the corner of Tupper Street and Atwater Avenue around 4:30 a.m. ET Thursday after receiving a 911 call reporting the device.

Earlier in the morning, police said the item look as though it was possibly "explosive."

Officers established a large security perimeter, cordoning off Atwater between Ren-Lvesque Boulevard and Ste-Catherine Street.

Atwaterhas since been reopened to traffic.

Police are investigating.
