UQAM obtains injunction against striking teaching assistants
University student employees block doors, demand administration returns to negotiations
The University of Quebec in Montreal has obtained a court injunction to guarantee access to its facilitiesduring astrike by student employees.
Teaching assistants and researchers at UQAMblocked the doorsof several pavilions Monday and Tuesday.

The temporary injunction is in effect for 10 days, until Dec. 18.
The union STUErepresents close to 3,000 teaching assistants and researchersacross theuniversity campus.
Students employees say they willcontinue to demonstrate until they are back at the negotiating table with UQAM.
The teaching assistants havebeen without a contract since the end of 2013.
