The contract for the design of the next generation Champlain Bridge may have already been awarded by the federal government, but that hasn't stopped Montrealers from dreaming up their own visions of what the three-kilometre span should look like.

Daybreak wants know what your dream for the new Champlain looks like.

Could future Montrealers use the space both as an area to live and work? Could a suspended monorail quickly shuttle commuters back and forth between the city and the South Shore?

This morning, Daybreak speaks to twoMontrealers who have already drawn out their ideas to replace the Champlain.

Maxim Nasab, a native Montrealer nowinterning at an architecture firm in Tallahassee, Fla., that specializes in bridges, has a concept that includes condos attached to the bridge's structure.

Jacques Savoie, a designer who lives in Saint-Constant, has a vision that includes a unique passage for mass transit.

Tune in at 7:15 a.m. ET to hear more about their design ideas.

On Thursday, Daybreak will look at what could happen with the existing Champlain structure. Could a New York City-style elevated park work in Montreal?

Send us your ideas for the future of the Champlain Bridge and you could be featured on the show and onour website.
