Three cyclists were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car on the outskirts of Moncton, N.B., on Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle was a97-year-old male, said Codiac RCMP Sgt. Andre Pepin.

The cyclists, who are all adults, were travelling southbound on Shediac Road near East Street when the vehicle struck the rear cyclist from behind, Pepin said.

"The cyclist was projected on the vehicle and went over the vehicle," he said.

No alcohol was involved, but the accident remains under investigation. The cyclists were all expected to be released from the Moncton hospital Saturday.
