CBC Fredericton wrapped up its Feed-A-Family campaign with an early morning flurry of donations, music and Christmas cheer. Radio Host Terry Seguin and his morning crew concluded their three week food-bank fund-raiser with an open house.

CBC's Feed-a-Familycampaign has so far raised more than $107,000, with the key term being so far, as there's still plenty of time to donate.

Friday started off with an open house at the CBC in Fredericton. The money raised in the campaign to date stood at$51,404, but the amountskyrocketed over the two-and-a-half-hour Information Morning show to $94,269.34.

By late Friday afternoon, thegrand total had ballooned to $107,575.19.

The morning extravaganza includeda brass band, carolers and, of course, Phil Drost in an elf suit.

Speaking of our resident elf, the draw in the Phil on a Sill contest was held during the open house. Rodrigo Flores won an iPad after finding Phil in a downtown business and making a donation.

Our estimate of how much it costs to feed a family at Christmas is about $40 for the turkey and all the fixings.

That means the campaign has already fed at least 2,500 families already.

The money will be donated to food banks in McAdam, Chipman, Minto, Woodstock, Oromocto, Doaktown, Jemseg and Fredericton as well as the Salvation Army, Fredericton Community Kitchen and the Village of Hope.

If you haven't donated yet, but still want to give, the Stantecphone line will be open until Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. The number is 1-855-249-3509.
