1 person dead at Fredericton wastewater plant

One person has died atFredericton's wastewater treatment plant onthe city'snorth side.

A news release from city hall said there was a deathinvolving a contractor at the Barker Streetplant.

"The investigation has been turned over to WorkSafe NB," city spokesperson MichaelBaldwin wrote in an email.

Fire trucks and police could be seen through the fence around the plant earlier in the afternoon.

The city provided no other details, including information about the victim.
