3 more charged with manslaughter in downtown Fredericton assault, say police

Three more people have been charged with manslaughter inthe death of a man following anassault in downtown Fredericton last month, say police.

Three more people have been charged with manslaughter inthe death of a man following anassault in downtown Fredericton last month, say police.

Two males, aged 16 and 17, and Tyler Totten, 18, appeared before a judge Thursday, when they were each charged in the death of Andr Bourgeois, 41, ofGrande-Digue, and released on conditions.

Bourgeois died as a result of injuries he sustained in aserious assault on Sept. 22, according to information presented in court.Hisobituary said he died on Sept. 27.

Fredericton police previously said they wereinvestigating a serious assaultthat occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 22 in the Tannery, a large courtyard area outside several bars, between King and Queen streets."Two menwere assaulted, one seriously," police said in a statement a week after the incident.

Earlier this month, a17-year-old male was also chargedwith manslaughter in Bourgeois's death.

Theyouths cannot be namedunderthe Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The investigation continues, said police spokespersonSonya Gilks.
