Fredericton pedestrian struck by police officer on patrol
Pedestrian, who was in a marked crosswalk, was treated in hospital for minor injuries
The incident occurred at a marked crosswalk in the downtown area on Saturday at about 10 p.m., spokeswoman AlyciaMorehousesaid in a statement on Monday.
Thepedestrian was treated in the hospital for "very minor injuries" and released, said Morehouse.
Speed was not a factor, she said.
No information about how fast the police cruiser was travelling has beenreleased.
"The senior police supervisor on duty was notified, and a report was submitted," said Morehouse.
The investigation is ongoing.
The name of the officer involved has not been released.
There is no word on whether he or she is still on active duty, pending the outcome of the investigation.
