Fredericton police officer pleads not guilty to drunk driving

A not guilty plea to a charge of impaired driving was entered in court on behalf of Fredericton police officer Darrell Brewer on Tuesday.

A Fredericton police officer pleadednot guilty to a charge of impaired driving on Tuesday morning.

DarrellIanBrewer was not present in court on Tuesday but was represented by a lawyer.

He was given a trial date of April 27 and28.

Brewer was charged following a single-vehicle accidenton Fredericton's north side on Aug. 23.

He was off duty at the time of the incident and has been suspended with pay since it occurred.

Brewer is one of two Fredericton police officers facing an impaired driving charge.
