Gibson Falls drowning victim identified with public's help

Police in southeast New Brunswick have identified a woman who drowned yesterday at Gibson Falls off River Road in Elgin, thanks to help from the public.

RCMP Cpl. Christa Mitchell says they received a callTuesday afternoon.

"The name is not being released at this time asour investigation is continuing," she said. "It's thanks to the public's assistance that we were able to identify the person."

The body was removed from the water Monday afternoon after someone placed a 911 call. No foul play is suspected.

They said the victimappears to be in her mid-30s,with a dark complexion, brown eyes and black, shoulder length hair.

She had a large tattoo on her right calf of a feather breaking into small birds along with a biblical passage.

A second tattoo on her right bicep was a chain with a feather hanging between the chain links.
