Heavy rains, winds from post-tropical storm Arthur led to discovery at St. Peter's Church

The heavy rain from post-tropical storm Arthur helped unearth human remains at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, located in Saint Johns north end.

Human remains were discovered on Sunday, tangled in the roots of a large tree that had toppled over in the storm.

Saint John Police say the bones were gathered from the church and sent to the coroner.

They say the bones appear very old and have turned up before from old burials on the property.
