Moncton company OrganiGram is mixing marijuana and jobs.

The legal marijuana grower has created 30 jobs since setting up shop and it says another 25 are on the way in April.

OrganiGram is one of only 16 companies in the country that makes and sells medical marijuana.

The company mailed out its first major shipment of marijuana just a few weeks ago and it has eight different strains currently in production.

The plants grow in the sterile facility with the help of controlled heat, lights and humidity, while staff trim the plants. The buds produced are then dried, sold to patients and shipped through Canada Post.

For people looking to get product from OrganiGram, they need to get a prescription from their doctor and send the original to the company, which then validates it before sending out the product.

Company CEO Denis Arsenault says theres been a waiting list since day one for product.

The company started growing marijuana in August and its stocks reached more than $2 a share, but have since came down off that high to 49 cents a share.

The companies that are publicly traded are starting to have evaluations that are more reasonable. Once we start delivering some earnings, we'll see some nice movement on our stock, said Arsenault.

The company is the only licensed grower east of Ottawa.
