Traffic rerouted as dump truck strikes bridge in Oromocto

Motorists travelling between Oromocto and Fredericton through Lincoln will need to take an alternate route as the Lincoln Bridge has been closed to all traffic, RCMP say.

RCMP Cpl. JaysonHansen said a dump truck struck the bridge at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

"The back end struck the top of the bridge, taking the whole bucket or box off the dump truck," he said.

The road is closed pending an engineering assessment, he said.
