Body of Cap-Pel man who fell overboard recovered off P.E.I.

The body a 59-year-old Cap-Pel, N.B., man who fell overboard in Shediac Bay on Aug. 5 has been recovered off the shore of Prince Edward Island.

The body a 59-year-old Cap-Pel, N.B., man who fell overboard in Shediac Bay on Aug. 5 has been recovered off the shore of Prince Edward Island.

Saturday at around 9:30 a.m., members of East Prince RCMP in P.E.I. responded to a call for assistance from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.

A body had been discovered in the water south of Mont Carmel, approximately 15 kilometres southwest of the entrance to the Summerside Harbour.

The Canadian Coast Guard recovered the body of the man later identified as the boater who had been missing. His family has been notified.

While foul play is not suspected, RCMP said an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death. His name has not been released.
