NB Power warns of telephone scam

NB Power is warning customers of a telephone scam.

The utility says people falsely identifying themselves as representatives of NB Power have been calling customers, asking themto make an urgent payment to avoid having their power disconnected.

RCMP have been advised, officials said.

Customers who receive suspicious calls are encouraged to contact police or thethe Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
