What's open and closed on Labour Day in N.B.

Major grocery stores and most retailers in New Brunswick will be closed Monday for the Labour Day holiday. Transit will also stay idle in Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.

Most retailers in New Brunswick will be closed on Monday for the Labour Day holiday.

Buses also won't be running in Moncton, Saint John or Fredericton.

Here's a closer look at what's open and what's closed on Labour Day:

Retail and grocery:

  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open, some with reduced hours depending on location.

  • Walmart, Sobeys and Atlantic Superstore locations will be closed.

  • N.B. Liquor Corporation locations will be closed.

  • Regent Mall, McAllister Place and CF Champlain will be closed.

  • Saint John City Market will be closed.

Attractions:

  • Wilmot Park Splash Pad in Fredericton will have regular hours.

  • New Brunswick Exhibition in Fredericton opens.

  • Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton will be open.

  • The Acadian Historical Village innortheast New Brunswick will be open.

  • Kings Landing west of Fredericton will be open.

  • Resurgo Place in Moncton will be closed.

  • The Fredericton Region Museum will be closed.

Government offices, public services:

  • Saint John City Hall, Fredericton City Hall, Moncton City Hall and city administrative offices will be closed.

  • Saint John Transit, Fredericton Transit and Codiac Transpo in Moncton will not be running.

  • Service New Brunswick will be closed.

  • Service Canada will be closed.

  • Regular garbage collection will happen across the province. But routine schedules might differ.

  • Public libraries across New Brunswick will be closed.
