Search for missing Mount Allison student to continue

RCMP and Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue members have suspend their search for the day for 20-year-old Christopher Metallic who has been missing since Nov. 25.

Search was called off on Thursday

Christopher Metallic, 20, was last seen last Sunday morning at a house party on Allison Street in Sackville.

RCMPand Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue members have suspended their search for the day for 20-year-old Christopher Metallicwho has been missing since Nov. 25.

Thesearchwas conducted on Saturdayin Upper Sackville near the Tantramar River, where police confirmed flip flops found in the area were worn by Christopher Metallic before he was reported missing.

"The search has been extended to an area close to where the footwear was located, just an area that hadn't been covered at this point," said Cpl. Elise Ct. "So we have Tri-County Search and Rescue searching the grounds and we also have a helicopter doing an aerial search of the area as well."

RCMP said they will resume the search on Sunday. Thescuba diving unit will be used to search the Tantramar River wheretheflip flops were found.

Recentcold temperatures have caused theriver to freeze which may make it difficult for the scuba team to conduct the search.

Theactive search for Metallic had been suspendedon Thursday.

Metallic is described as being aboriginal, six feet tall, 180 pounds, with short dark hair.

In an earlier press release it was mentioned that he was wearing glasses. Ct said "he was wearing glasses but not at the time that he went missing, so we just wanted to clarify that."

He was last seen wearing a shiny bright blue sweater, jeans and flip flops.
