Fractured Future survey results

This survey was developed and implemented by CBC News to understand the opinions of CBC.ca/nb users on shale gas exploration and hydraulic fracturing.

This survey is not representative of the population and therefore the results cannot be extrapolated to be reflective of the opinions of all residents of New Brunswick. This is because:

• Participants of the survey are not representative in terms of demographics and no corrective data weighting was applied, and
• This survey was located on the CBC.ca/nb website and therefore is a self-selected survey because participants were not selected randomly and were not contacted directly.

This survey was available online on the CBC.ca/nb website from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, 2011 and a total of 1,852 respondents completed it.
