WorkSafeNB names Gerard Adams as new CEO

Gerard Adams has been named WorkSafeNB's new president and chief executive officer.

The provincial government has appointed Gerard Adams as the new president and chief executive officer of WorkSafeNB.

Adams, of Riverview, will begin his five-year term on Feb. 27.

"Mr. Adams brings a wealth of experience to the organization, and I am confident he, along with the board of directors, will administer and enforce the legislation efficiently and fairly," said Training and Labour Minister Martine Coulombe, who made the announcement in a release Wednesday.

Adams has beena chief executive and chartered accountant for more than 25 years in Atlantic Canada most recently, he was president andCEO of the Credit Union Central of New Brunswick.

"Mr. Adams brings with him the leadership and experience required to lead our organization effectively," Sharon Tucker, board chair of WorkSafeNB, said in the release.

Adams succeeds Douglas Stanley, who served as president and chief executive officer from 2000 to 2011.

"I thank Douglas Stanley for his dedication and contribution during his tenure as president and chief executive officer," Coulombe said.
