2 men from Sussex killed in crash near Woodstock

RCMP said police were called around 1:45 a.m. Thursday to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Hay Settlement, about 15 kilometers south of Woodstock.

A third person, who has not been identified, was also in the vehicle, according to the RCMP

Two men from Sussex were killed in single-vehicle crash on Thursday.

A release from the RCMP, sent out Friday,said police were called around 1:45 a.m. Thursdayto a single-vehicle crash onHighway 2 near Hay Settlement, about 15 kilometres south of Woodstock.

The vehicle was travelling eastbound and police say theybelieve the driver lost control and wentinto the ditch.

A 45-year-old man from Sussex died on scene from his injuries, according to the RCMP release, and a43-year-old, also from Sussex, was transported to hospital where he then died as a result of his injuries.

The release also said police"have reason to believe that a third person may have been in the vehicle at the time of the crash and has yet to be identified."

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has "dash-cam footage, or if you have information that could help further the investigation" to contact the Western Valley detachment or Crime Stoppers.
