UNB implementing sexual assault policy

The University of New Brunswick (UNB) is developing a sexual assault policy to try to avoid a scandal similar to what's happening at theDalhousie dentistry school.

UNB says its attempting to change a culture that too often tolerates sexual assault and harassment.

The policy would provide more support programs to victims of sexual assault and create a disciplinary process if issues arise.

The university started developing the policy last fall. It is expected to be up and running by next fall.

Student athletes have teamed up with the university to create a public service announcement in an attempt to bring awareness to sexual violence.
