Some stressed-out university students got the chance to take a break with a few furry friends on Wednesday.

A group of therapy dogs were jumping, playing and wagging their tails at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.

Students were given a chance to take a break from their exams and essays to play with the dogs.

The event was held by the UNB Health Centre, UNB Counselling Services and the student union. The volunteers came from Saint John Ambulance and River Valley Obedience.

The CBC's Joe McDonald caught up with students, and the therapy dogs, and has the details.

Four therapy dogs were brought to the University of New Brunswick on Wednesday to help students destress during the winter exam period. (CBC)
