Volunteers continue search for Genevieve Cormier, 19

The volunteer effort to locate missing Saint John teen Genevieve Cormier continues.

Police say they do not suspect foul play in teen's disappearance

The volunteer effort to locate missing Saint John teen Genevieve Cormier continues.

On Saturday, about a dozen searchers looked in the Sea Side Park area in the city's west side, hoping for some break in a case that's baffled investigators.

Pushing away thick underbrush, volunteers searched for any signs of the high school student.

The 19-year old was last seen on Sept. 29.

"We're looking more for articles of clothing, cell phones, any sign of any activity in the area," said Dave Green, one of the searchers.

Genevieve was last seen in a parking lot near the Reversing Falls.

She was known to walk home through that area but an extensive search there has turned up nothing.

Two weeks later, Genevieve's father Jason Cormier said volunteers, and even police seem stumped.

Cormier said investigators are tracing his daughters phone and bank cards. But they haven't been used since she disappeared.

Still, he has not lost hope.

"I will find her. One way or the other I will find my daughter."

Genevieve Cormier is described as being about five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall, weighing 120 pounds with a thin build.

She has long brown hair that she wears straight, or in a ponytail. She has hazel eyes and will usually wear a light amount of makeup.

Cormier has pierced ears and a black bird tattoo on her left shoulder blade.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the police at 506-648-3333, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
