16-year-old boy dead following Flatrock drowning

A 16-year-old boy is dead following an incident near a popular swimming spot in FlatrockTuesday afternoon, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says.

Police, Eastern Health and members of boththe St. John's Regional andTorbayfire departments responded to a call of a drowning at Bark Pot swimming hole shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Const. Geoff Higdontold CBC News the teenager was rushed to hospital. His family has been notified.
