Allison Smith, 18, identified by police as TCH crash victim

Police have confirmed that a woman found dead Thursday in a highway accident near the Foxtrap Access Road is Allison Smith,18, a Memorial University student reported missing earlier in the week.

Police are looking for information that may help them find 18-year-old Allison Smith, who was last seen leaving a party around 1 a.m. Tuesday on the Memorial University campus in St. John's.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said she failed to show up to a 9 a.m. appointment later that morning in Clarenville, which is where her family is originally from.

She is described as 5 feet10 inches tall, with brown eyes and brown hair. When last seen, Smith was wearing dark jeans and a white tank top.

On Thursday, police released a photo of Smith that was taken the night she was last seen, in addition to a photo of her car.

Smith'svehicle is a grey four-door Hyundai Elantra with a black bug deflector and window rain guards, with licence plate HVB 594.

Police are asking people to keep an eye out for the car, and friends and family have also been sharing the photo on social media pleading for any information.
