Bill 29 review report delivered to government

A report reviewing Newfoundland and Labrador's access-to-information laws was delivered to government Monday afternoon.

A report reviewing Newfoundland and Labrador's access-to-information laws was delivered to government Monday afternoon.

In March 2014, then-premier Tom Marshall announced the review would be moved ahead by one year in response to public outcry caused by Bill 29.

The committee responsible for the review was chaired by former premier and judge Clyde Wells, and includes Doug Letto, former senior producer of CBC's Here & Now, and Jennifer Stoddart, who served as privacy commissioner of Canada for a decade.

The final report has 90 recommendations, including draft legislation.

The report will be released publicly Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., according to the premier's office.
