Cargo plane strikes building at St. John's airport

A cargo plane struck a building Thursday morning at St. John's International Airport.

No one was injured in the incident involving a Cargojet aircraft, which occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The General Service Building, on the Torbay Road side of the airport, was evacuated as a precaution. It was not immediately clear how much damage was caused.

Normal flight operations were not affected by the incident.

The St. John's International Airport Authority said the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary have both been notified.

It is not yet clear what caused the mishap.
