Pasadena man convicted of child porn offence, sentenced to 90 days

Jody Callahan will spend 90 days in prison and nine months on probation after police found child porn in his possession.

Will also be on probation for 9 months, have to register as sex offender for 10 years

Police are reminding parents to be cautious of their child's internet use.

A 48-year-old Pasadena man has been convicted and sentenced for having child porn in his possession.

Jody Callahanwas convicted in a Corner Brook court on July 27.

Callahan will spend 90 days incarcerated and be on probation for nine months. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

The conviction comes after a search of Callahan's residence in January 2016 by members of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit's internet child exploitation.

Callahanpleaded guilty to the offence in May.

In a release, the police unit reminds parents that their children can be victimized by offenders all over the world while online, and they are encouraging parents to talk to their children about internet safety.
