Emergency crews working to recover man's body on Signal Hill

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and other first responders are working to recover the body of a man who fell from a trailonSignal Hill on Monday.

The St. John's Regional Fire Department told CBC News that crews got the call at around 4:40 p.m. Monday afternoon that a man fell into a chasm along the North Head Trail on Signal Hill.

A high-angle rescue team is on site to help recover the body.

RNC Media Relations Officer Const. James Cadigan told CBC News that the death is deemed sudden, but not suspicious.

Police remain on the scene as of 7 p.m. Monday.
