Don Dunphy inquiry: dates set for those looking for standing or funding

The judge overseeing the inquiry into the police shooting of Don Dunphy has posted an important date for those interested in getting standing or funding in relation to the investigation.

The judgeoverseeing the inquiry into the police shooting of Don Dunphyhas posted an important datefor those interested in getting standing or funding in relation to the investigation.

Any people or groups interested will be heard on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. The hearing will take place at the commission offices on 425 Topsail Rd. in St. John's.

At that time the commissioner for the inquiry, Justice Leo Barry, will determine who has standing as set out in the Public Inquiries Act.

The hearings allow the inquiry to schedule proceedings and allocate funds needed for the different groups or people involved.

Applications to be heard by the commissioner must be submittedon Friday Oct. 14, and can be sent by mail, fax or email.More information can be found on the commission's website.
